Copying Microsoft Forms Attachments to a SharePoint List Item using Power Automate

In this video, we see how to create a group form in Microsoft Forms, create an associated SharePoint List to hold the data, use Power Automate to copy the form responses to the list, and, most importantly, copy each file uploaded with the form and attach it to the corresponding list item. Please check out this post by Norm Young that was helpful in figuring out how to do this.

Working with a Multiple Value Person Column in Power Apps – Part 2

In this video, I update the information from Part 1 of this video and show how to limit the list of “people” to only those in the associated list with a “person” column. I also show a more reliable way to configure the ForAll() function when patching the SharePoint list.

Working with a Multiple Value Person Column in Power Apps – Part 1

In this video, we look at how to interact with a multiple value, lookup, person SharePoint column when you get to Power Apps. We show how to implement search with a separate gallery, configure a combo box correctly for displaying and editing data, and demonstrate how to patch the data back to SharePoint. Please view Part 2 for updates on this concept.

Forms – Power Automate – SharePoint and then Showing the Most Current Submission in Power BI

In this video, we take a simple Microsoft Form, copy each entry to SharePoint with Power Automate, and then visualize the data in Power BI. The main insight is to show only the most recent form submission by grouping within Power BI, creating a MaxDate column, and then filtering.

Creating an Employee Recognition App in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, and SharePoint

In this video, we demonstrate how to create a Power Apps and Power Automate employee recognition solution that can post the recognition to a Teams channel, send a Teams chat, and/or send via email. We try to make it optional for submitters to include their information, finding it works for chats and email but not posts. We store the information in SharePoint and then use Power BI to visualize the values demonstrated and other data.

Working with Bitmask Database Values Using Excel

In this video, we explore a real-world problem where the database stores an important value (in this case whether a group has administrative rights) in a bitmask format. We export the results to Excel and then use formulas to display the column value and our desired mask in binary format. We then use the BITAND function to determine which of our values have that mask value set.

Reading an Excel file to automate the copying and deletion of attachments with .NET

In this video, we build a .NET Windows Forms application to programmatically read a column in an Excel worksheet, manipulate it to remove HTML and format its file names, and bind that to a grid. We then programmatically find each file and copy it to a new directory. Finally, we optionally delete the original files.
